for Ash’s second Hoenn gym battle. But he isn’t resting…

Ash pushed his jet-black hair out of his face as he stared down at the piece of paper in
his lap and a pencil in his hand that he had in their guest room in the Dewford Pokemon
Center . May was snoring so loudly that Pikachu was covering his ears with his paws and
Brock was babbling about how pretty Nurse Joy was.

(God, how can Max live with that snoring?) Pikachu asked. (It’s loud enough to wake the
dead)

Ash shrugged his shoulders. “It can’t be that bad Pikachu.”

( try having heightened senses and bigger ears like me. It sounds like Meowths’ claws
scratching across a chalkboard) Pikachu said and Ash could see his point, a bit. He could
hear things up to a half mile away, such as a herd of rampaging Tarous and Ash would hear
them until the last minute. Of course, his hearing was not as acute as say a Marill, but he
didn’t seem to mind.

“compared to Brock flirting with girls in his sleep and Snorlax’s own snoring , it’s
tolerable. Boy, if Misty could see us now...”

(She’d would hake her head and wonder how on earth we have survived this far without going

Dear Misty,

Hi! How are you? I just finished reading your letter that you wrote. I wanted to tell you
how beautiful you are. I left all my Pokemon except Pikachu back in Pallet town and I left
my heart with you when you went back home to Cerulean City.

Right now I’m writing in the early morning while everyone is so that May doesn’t read this
letter since she would never let me live it down. You will see why below. I have gotten one
badge on my own and am on my way tomorrow to get my second on Dewford Island! Brock is
back, he also left all his Pokemon except Forretress back home. I have joined up with the
two children of the fifth gym leader. The girl, May is so dumb!

On her first day as a trainer she sent out her fire type against a water type! She did not
know that her Torchic, the fire starter for Hoenn that looks like a little chicken, is weak
to water types. It got Water Gunned by an Azuril, which is the baby form of Marill, a
Marill AND an Azumarill. I had to send in Pikachu to save its feathery butt. May doesn’t
even know her own Pokemon's attacks. AND SHE DIDN’T WANT TO BE A TRAINER IN THE FIRST
PLACE! She makes me miss you sooooo much! At least SHE has the decency to not be scared of
bug Pokemon as she has a Beautifly, which reminds me a lot of Butterfree. Her seven-year-
old brother Max doesn’t have any Pokemon but he acts as our navigator with his trusty
PokeNav.

Do you think I should add that Max keeps May from having my head since I, well you kinda
destroyed her bike?” Ash asked Pikachu, who nodded as he added it into the letter.

(How was I supposed to know that when I was letting out shocks of joy because the idiots
healed me with that stupid battery robot that one would hit May’s bike) Pikachu said.

There is a lot of new Pokemon here in Hoenn. One of my new pokemon is Treecko. A Treecko is
the Hoenn Grass Type starter that looks like a little wood gecko. Mine has a certain little
stubborn streak, Pikachu says it rivals mine, as well as having a habit of pulling a twig
out of somewhere and putting it in his mouth every time I call him out. I also have a
Tailow, which is a Flying Type, and it is kind of like the Pidgey of Hoenn. She is very
smart and loves to battle and will not hesitate to go after Pokemon bigger than her. They
are everywhere! She was my first Hoenn capture! Corphish looks kinda like a mutant Krabby
in size but he is very fun loving! Brock has a Mudkip, which is a Water Type. She looks
like a mudfish and is always looking out for Lotad. Brock also has a Lotad which is a
Grass/Water type and its classified as a Lilly pad Pokemon because he has a Lilly pad on
his head He isn’t the smartest Pokemon in the world but everyone is warming up to his
charms

Ash tapped the paper with his pencil. “ Great. I’m stuck, Pikachu. I’m mean, this whole
pouring-out-my-true-feelings-in-a-letter-to-Misty thing is way over my head.” He admitted.

(You should name some memories that you two shared. But not the whole Shamuti legend thing,
she already reminded you about that. Except she forgot to mention that I was awake the
whole time ) Pikachu gave him a sly smile as he saw Ash’s face go as red as a Groudon as
he put the pencil to the paper and started writing again

I remember that time in the Whirl Cup when we were facing each other and how you refused to
lose. I still say that you lucked out when Psyduck came out and then Kingler gave him a
huge old headache. Or that time when we were in Celadon City and Team Rocket gave you that
horrible makeover and you said that if Brock and I said our comments you would pummel us
flat. Then there was the time that we went back to Cerulean City and your sisters made you
play that mermaid in their play. I truly thought that you looked

beyond beautiful. Thinking back on all of these memories and reading your letter has made
me realize that I truly love you, Misty.

As to answer your question about Team Rocket, unfortunately for me, those three morons
followed me to Hoenn. There are two teams here. Team Magma wants to raise the land levels
and Team Aqua wants to raise the sea levels. Thankfully, the only Team Rocket members in
Hoenn are James, Jessie and Meowth. Nothing a little Thunderbolting from Pikachu can’t
help. I wish that I could say that Brock has changed but he hasn’t. He is still flirting
with every single girl ,oddly enough, he has never flirted with May or you or Jessie, and
is still infatuated with Officer Jenny and Nurse Joy. Max has taken over your job of
pulling away by his ear every time he goes overboard when he is flirting. You would think
that he would have learned his lesson but NOOOOO.

Ash then realized that May and the others were starting to wake up. Pikachu was already
pretending to have just woken up by jumping off his shoulders, curling into a ball on the
bed, stretching, yawning and rubbing some nonexistent sleep out of his eyes so Ash quickly
wrote the last paragraph.
